Rev. Dr. Jeff Willetts, Pastor
Reverend Dr. Jeffrey G. Willetts was called to be the pastor of Calvary Hill Baptist Church on March 1st, 1998. Dr. Willetts graduated from Campbell University in 1985 with a BA in Religion & Philosophy. In 1988 he graduated from Yale University Divinity School with a MA in Religion. In 1997 he earned his PhD in Philosophy from the University of Wales.

In his various fields of ministry he has served with the music ministry team, Crossroads, touring the mid-atlantic states. From 1991 to 1997 he was church-planter establishing Fair Oaks Baptist Church. In 1998 he became the Academic Director of The John Leland Center for Theological Studies, a new Baptist seminary in the nation's capital. He currently serves the seminary as Academic Dean/VP and is Associate Professor of Divinity.

Dr. Willetts enjoys sports, especially basketball, as well as, hunting and fishing.

Dr. Willetts is married to Reverend Elizabeth Willetts, and has three teenage children, Andrew, Rebekah, and Jordan.

Rev. Beth Willetts, Associate Pastor
Rev. Elizabeth (Beth) Willetts, is a native of South Wales in the U. K. She received her Theological training and ministry education from South Wales Baptist College and Cardiff University. Beth has served in pastoral positions in both Wales and the United States and is currently Associate Pastor at Calvary Hill. Beth's hobbies include horses, horses, and horses! She is married to Jeff and they have three teenagers, Andrew, Rebekah, and Jordan.

Lola Hollenbeck, CHBC Pre-School Director
Lola Hollenbeck holds a BS Degree in Elementary Education from Longwood college. She continues to seek avenues to expand her education in the pre-school field.

She brings to Calvary Hill Baptist Church many years of experience in teaching preschoolers combined with a compassionate heart and a listening ear.

Lola is active in church life and has led Vacation Bible School, taught Sunday School, and led pre-school choir.

Lola is married to Dave Hollenbeck and they have two college age children.

Hannah Parr, Ministry Assistant
Hannah Parr came to Calvary Hill Baptist Church in 1977 while the church was searching for a new pastor. The sweet spirit of the remnant of the Calvary Hill congregation led her to look no further as this was home.

Her servant's role began with joining the choir in the first month and waiting to join the church for the pastor's first Sunday in the pulpit several months later. Ordination as a deacon was held on July 8, 1984 . She currently is a trustee of the church.

Hannah and her husband Martin were high school sweethearts and have one daughter, Heather Cooper, and three grandchildren, Leah, Rachael, and David.

Prior to being called to join the staff of Calvary Hill, she had been a journeyman baker for Safeway for over a decade, followed by becoming a corporate travel agent for 7 years.

David Troup, Music Director
David Troup is a professional singer, a voice teacher, and the driving force behind a non-profit organization called QUEST MUSIC, which is dedicated to demonstrating how the amazing powers of music can make us all happier, more productive individuals.

"Having enjoyed 30 years as a singer/entertainer, I decided to apply my musical skills and experiences to the art of teaching others to sing. My life had been filled with exciting travel ---first, performing concerts throughout 49 of our 50 states as a member of the U.S. Air Force Singing Sergeants. After fulfilling my military obligations, I was granted the dream-of-a-lifetime, and I began sharing my love of music with "captive" audiences throughout the world as a singer on the world's most elegant luxury cruise liners.

But I found that teaching folks how to sing correctly was just as thrilling as all that wonderful worldwide travel! The excitement of witnessing a student's vocal progress - whether young or old - was such a great feeling! I've been a vocal technician and coach since 1992, and I still absolutely love it!

I became Director of Music here at Calvary Hill Baptist Church in January 2005. I have never witnessed the presence of the Holy Spirit in any other place more powerfully than I have witnessed it among the members of this congregation. It may seem a overused word, but the people who attend this church are truly a "family"...expressing their love for one another and their love of God every day. The CHBC Choir expresses that love each time they sing, and, boy, do they sound great! Have you heard them lately? Oh, and don't miss our new praise band --"SALT & LIGHT" - this gang of dedicated believers really rocks!

Dr. Stephen Brown, Assistant Music Director
Dr. Stephen Brown has been active in the Washington area for many years as a vocal coach and accompanist. He has appeared in recital at Barker Hall, Sumner Auditorium, the Martin Luther King Library, the Renwick Gallery, the University of Maryland, the in-school programs of the Washington Performing Arts Society, the Eldbrooke Artists Series, the Hungarian Embassy, the Jewish Community Center of Washington, and Strathmore Hall. He has appeared as soloist with the McLean Symphony, Washington Pro Musica, and the Orchestra of the New York Opera Festival di Roma.

Dr. Brown has served as accompanist and assistant conductor for many local opera companies, choruses and other musical organizations, including the Eldbrooke Opera, the Richard Crittenden Opera Studio, the Opera Camerata of Washington, and the Capital City Opera. For three summers, he has served as coach for the Washington Opera's Institute for Young Singers. He appears on a CD on the Vienna Masterworks label featuring the works of composer Marshall Ocker. He holds a Master's Degree in Music History from SUNY Buffalo and a Doctorate in Vocal Accompanying from Catholic University. Dr. Brown is on the piano faculty of George Washington University.
