• Program Goals
  The daily program is planned to promote development in all areas of growth: physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual.
  
  
• Curriculum
  We use the Baptist WEE learn Curriculum as a general guide. Each teacher adds other materials for enrichment. There are activities in art, music, science, math, and language arts, as well as social and physical activities. Your child's experiences may include: blocks, sand and water, dramatic play, puppets, cooking and tasting foods, circle time (listening and talking), and exploring creative materials.
  
  Learning activities are designed to be relevant to the lives of young children. We encourage personal care, self-confidence, self-control, problem solving, and the acceptance of responsibility to God and others.
  
  
• Chapel Time
  The children and their teachers join the Director and Pastor in the church sanctuary for a short brief (10-15 min.) time, during which songs are sung, a bible story is read, and a short prayer is offered. The children become aware of our loving God and his son Jesus, and of His love for them as unique and special individuals. We are a Christian program; concepts presented are simple and non-doctrinal.
  
  
• Minimum Age
  Children must be 2-1/2 years old by the first day of attendance. Potty training not required except for children in the 3 year olds classes and in Extended Preschool (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM).
  
  
• Class Size
  Staff-Child ratios vary: 1:5 for the 2-1/2 year class (teacher and assistant for 10 students); 1:6 in all other classes (teacher and assistant for 12 students).
  
  
• Health and Safety
  Each child must have a Virginia physical exam certificate, signed by a physician, proving immunization and good health . This certificate must be provided before the first day of school.
  
  Staff on duty has training in First Aid, C.P.R., and Health Screening. Regular fire drills are conducted.
  
  
• Lunch and Snack
  Parents provide a nutritious lunch and beverage. Afternoon care needs an extra snack and drink. We are a peanut related food-free school. Please do not send peanut butter or nut related foods in your child's lunch.
  
  
• Fees
  Annual Registration Fee is per child and non-refundable, due at time of registration.
  
  Annual Activity Fee (Payable in September) is for in-house educational programs and supplies, as well as tote bags furnished upon initial enrollment (one bag for total time of pre-school attendance).

• Extended Pre-School (1:30 PM - 4:00 PM)
  Our afternoon pre-school includes circle time, arts and crafts, rest time and playground activities. The classes are multi-age. The children rest, so they bring their own large towel, or small blanket, and a pillow. The separate snack and juice brought from home is refrigerated. Extended care is available for emergencies if there is an opening that day. Potty training required..
  
  
• Late Pick-Up Fee
  A $1.00 per minute, per family, late fee will be charged for pick-ups later than 1:30 PM or 4:00 PM
  
  
• Application
  Application is made by filling out the Pre-School Application Form and giving it, together with the registration fee, to the Director personally. Registration for the school year 2010-2011 begins February 8, 2010 for families with children currently enrolled in the program. Open registration begins February 22, 2010.

• Withdrawal Policy
  If you withdraw your child, please notify the Director 30 days in advance of the withdrawal date, in writing. If the child is withdrawn March 1st, or thereafter, the May tuition will not be refunded unless the space is filled by a new student. Changes in days of attendance also require 30 days written notice.
  
  
• Calendar
  The school year for the Pre-School begins in September and runs through May. All Fairfax County holidays and other school closings are observed, including changes in daily scheduled due to inclement weather. Additional changes, or exceptions, vary from year to year.
  
  
• Summer Day Camp
  Camp will be available during the months of June and July, 2010 for children ages 3 years to 5 years. Registration begins February 22, 2010. Morning session only and extended day camps are available.
